Processing & Transit

Orders placed before 2:00pm ET ship the same business day. Orders placed after that cutoff, or on weekends and holidays, ship the next business day. All orders are shipped from within the United States via a tracked carrier, and a tracking number is emailed as soon as a label is created.

Packaging & Storage Handling

Vials are shipped in protective, insulated packaging appropriate for lyophilized (freeze-dried) research compounds. Upon receipt, store lyophilized powder at −20°C, away from light, until use in your research protocol. Vortex Research is not responsible for degradation caused by improper storage after delivery.

Order Accuracy & Researcher Verification

All orders are subject to our researcher verification gate, confirming the purchaser is at least 21 years of age and is a qualified researcher purchasing for laboratory research use only — not for human or veterinary use. We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order where this cannot be confirmed.

Lost or Delayed Shipments

If tracking shows no movement for more than 5 business days, or a package is marked delivered but not received, contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date so we can open a carrier trace.

Backorders

Due to high demand, some compounds may be temporarily on backorder at the time of purchase. If an item in your order is backordered, we will still process and confirm your order as normal — it simply ships once the item is back in stock rather than same-day.

Typical backorder window

Backordered items generally ship within 4–6 business days of purchase. Please note this window can be extended due to supplier or shipping delays outside of our control, particularly for high-demand compounds. We do not guarantee a specific restock date and any timeline given is an estimate, not a fixed commitment.

Order status & updates

If any part of your order is backordered, you will be notified by email. You are welcome to email us at any time for a status update on a pending item using your order number.

Mixed orders

If your order contains both in-stock and backordered items, in-stock items ship immediately on their normal timeline; backordered items ship separately once available, at no additional shipping cost to you.

Cancelling a backordered item

If a backordered item hasn't shipped yet, you may request a cancellation and refund for that item at any time by emailing us with your order number.
